One Week Freediving Retreat (Soufriere, Dominica), October 16 - 23

Experience the magic of the Caribbean island nation of Dominica and earn either a PFI Freediver (Level 1) or PFI Intermediate (Level 2) certification... or just come and train with us! We'll be on the world famous Blue Element platform in the clear, calm waters of Soufriere Bay. Price includes 6 days and 7 nights accommodation in a private room, transportation to and from the airport in Dominica, unlimited use of the Blue Element facilities and 5 days of diving with instructor Lance Lee Davis on the platform, plus one large prepared meal each day.

We decided to keep this trip very open format, so there will be minimal formal classroom held on island; if you are earning a certification you'll do your e-learning ahead of time, and pool skills will be conducted off the beach in the bay, or possibly (inquire) do pool and classroom portions in Los Angeles during a regularly scheduled LA class. If you're interested in exploring any of other myriad activities around the island such as world class breathwork and yoga, waterfalls, swimming with whales, jungle hikes, or spearfishing, we'd be happy to connect you to our local friends and provide directions. Lodging and all scheduled activities will be in the village of Soufriere all within walking distance. Fast wi-fi is available throughout the village and at lodgings. Air temps in October will be in the high seventies and eighties. Water temp will be a very comfortable low eighties but we do recommend a thin wetsuit or rashguard to protect against sun and jellies. Lead weight can be rented on the island but all other diving or spearing gear must be brought.

Flights from LA to to Miami to Dominica, via American Airlines cost in the neighborhood of $1000 if purchased early. If you're interested in participating but sorting out your own lodging and meals, or staying at a luxury resort such as Jungle Bay, we're offering a 'local option' as well (contact for details). Also, if you're a couple and planning to share a room please inquire as we can offer a small discount in that case.

To participate, you must carry your own Divers Alert Network insurance policy. Travel delay insurance is also very strongly recommended. Registration fees are non-refundable and close by October 1.
